NEW THIS YEAR: I'm thrilled to announce that Michelle Klein will be my co-facilitator this June. I've had the great pleasure of working with Michelle at Equus-focused events in Pennsylvania and am very excited she wants to join us in Montana. Michelle brings compassion, knowledge, experience and joy to everything she does and I'm thrilled to be partnering with her for what has become my favorite event of the year.
A little more about her: Michelle Klein, MEd, LPC, CCTP, is a licensed professional counselor and certified clinical trauma professional.
A 2009 graduate of counselor education at the Pennsylvania State University, she is the owner of Michelle Klein Counseling LLC, and SoulShine Health, located in State College, Pa. She provides holistic counseling and coaching services to adults within Trauma-Informed experiential interventions and therapies such as IFS (Internal Family Systems),EFiT (Emotion Focused Individual Therapy), Ego-State Parts Work, Gestalt, Somatic and Poly-Vagal
Informed Therapy.
In 2025, under SoulShine Health, she began to weave together a community of healers, identified as “anyone who works on their own healing and growth” and facilitating healing workshops and collaborations. She is extremely excited to continue her collaboration with Erika in connecting the Equus experience to the trauma-informed practices of SoulShine Health.

The “Simple Agenda, Agenda”
We keep the schedule listed below based on the weather. Most mornings, we'll saddle up and explore the ranch on horseback for a few hours. Throughout your stay, you’ll have opportunities to be coached on anything you want--work, family, career, relationships. We do group work and of course, one-on-one coaching too. We always try to find the right flow for the group, however.
We’ll have activities most days of your stay and you're welcome to participate as much--or as little--as feels right for you. There is free time to enjoy your complimentary massage, fish, hike, ride, journal, or just enjoy some quiet time.
Evenings we’ll gather around the fire pit. We’ll chat and share stories. We keep it easy so you can maximize and integrate your experience and your time.
And as always, we’ll laugh and connect and make big plans.
NOTE: No horse experience is required for this retreat.
Equus coaching is conducted on the ground with client safety as a priority. No riding experience? The Blacktail Ranch can accommodate all levels of riders for their trail rides, from first timers to seasoned riders.
A note about the schedules: We make our daily plans based on weather primarily and secondarily, on the desires of the group.
